School Author Day

Meeting an Author can have a positive effect on children by showing them that books are written and illustrated by real people. Susan Castriota not only reads her book, she demonstrates how she draws characters from the book.

Susan can conduct an assembly before the entire school or visit individual classrooms. Suggested grades are K-5. The complete presentation takes around 45 minutes, with time allotted for Q & A with students. Susan offers a discount on her honorarium to schools who offer her books for sale. Pre-book sales give Susan ample time to autograph books and have them ready on the day of the presentation. An order form will be emailed to the school to be sent home to the student offering a discount of $10.00 per book.

If you choose the book "Wilson and the White House Pups", Susan can talk to the children about her many visits to The White House and the ornament she was chosen to design for the White House Christmas Tree.
